Mob Psycho 100 is a manga and anime series created by ONE (Manga Author). It's a story about a supernatural adventures of a young middle schooler, Shigeo Kageyama, known for his nickname "Mob" who is gifted with an incredible telekinetic powers. Along with his teacher, a well-meaning con man passing himself off as a psychic detective, Mob helps solve psychic mysteries and destroy dangerous spirits. At least, that's the idea. Mob Psycho 100 began publication on Weekly Shōnen Sunday Web Comics on 18th April, 2012 and was concluded on 22nd December, 2017. It has been available on the MangaONE mobile app since December 2014. It has an accumulated of 16 volumes of this manga series. The anime adaptation series of Mob Psycho 100 was animated by renowned Japanese studio, BONES. It began airing in 2016 starting from the 11th July to 27th September 2016. The second second was premiered on the 7th January to 1st April 2019. The third season was announced this year and will premiere around this month of Octorber 2022.

ONE (Manga Story Author)

ONE (stylised as ONE) or Tomohiro is the pseudonym of a Japanese manga artist, best known for his web manga series One-Punch Man, which was later remade as a digital manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata (Manga Artist). ONE serialized One-Punch Man under his own website with no official publisher. The remake is serialized in the web version of Weekly Young Jump. He is a manga artist for fun. He serialized Mob Psycho 100 in the online version of Weekly Shōnen Sunday known as Ura Sunday, which ended in December 2017. ONE was born in Niigata Prefecture, 29th October, 1986, and was raised in, Kōnosu, Saitama. While ONE was living with his grandparents in Niigata Prefecture, his parents bought him a manga series called “Crayon Shin-chan." Not only was the series set in Saitama Prefecture which resonated with him, it also massively developed his interest in the field of manga and drove him to start drawing to create his own series. During college, ONE started publishing webcomics on his own website however they were not doing well thus, on the recommendation of a friend, in 2009, he transitioned to publishing his works on Nitosha, a website that lets creators publish their works (especially webcomics) freely. This was also how he started digital art. ONE and Yusuke Murata (Manga Artist) received the Best Manga Sugoi Japan Award 2016. The award aims to promote works that have "universality", "originality", and "potential" to be big international hits. He was also nominated on different awardings, such as Manga Taishō, Eisner Award, Harvey Award, Sugoi Japan Award, and Shogakukan Manga Award.

Sheuisha's Young Jump Next picked up the series, as well as commissioned Yusuke Murata, to draw the series with the original writer, ONE.

Makai no Ossan (Old Man of the Underworld) Makai no Ossan (魔界のオッサン) is a slice-of-life-in-hell kind of gag web manga about an underworld family consisting of a father called Ossan (who seems to be the main protagonist), his wife who is the mother of their children. Their oldest son who's the older brother known as Yuuji, a middle-school student called Tarou (the second protagonist next to his father), and the youngest child who is the younger sister called Hitomi. Each chapter is about one page each, and are fairly episodic where most do not continue a following plot while some other chapters do.

Dotou no Yuushatachi (Heroes of Fury) A Princess of a country is abducted by the Demon King. To save her daughter, the King of the country decreed that any hero that is able to beat the demon king will be wed to the Princess. The Princess, however, is extremely ugly that the royal court resorted to trickery by putting a fake picture in order to attract heroes. It was released on January 4th, 2012 in the Young Jump magazine. It's the shorter one of the two one-shots, consisting of only 19 pages. As you might expect from the low page count.

This is the story of Arataka Reigen and the Spirits and Such Consultation Office. It is the spin-off manga to Mob Psycho 100 created by ONE, which began publication on the MangaONE mobile app on 19th March, 2018.

C H A R A C T E R S

Shigeo Kageyama

Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama He is the main protagonist of the Mob Psycho 100 series, as well as assistant and disciple of Arataka Reigen. He is the newest member of the Body Improvement Club. As a child, Mob learned that his psychic power was linked to his emotions. Strong negative emotions can cause him to hurt others, something he strongly dislikes and avoids. Therefore, he generally tries to keep his emotions in check. Another principle of his is that psychic ability does not make him or others inherently better and that his psychic ability is not something that he requires in life. This belief leads to conflict.

Reigen Arataka

Reigen Arataka Reigen is a self-proclaimed psychic who exorcises evil spirits and leads a spirit council. He is also Mob's mentor and boss. He has a wide variety of skills and knowledge due to working a lot of different jobs. He uses them either when he helps his client or attacking his opponent.

Ekubo

Ekubu Ekubo is an evil spirit with a desire to become God. He is Shigeo's self-proclaimed spiritual adviser. He is known to have a very foul smell, and has been described by multiple characters as "disgusting and unsettling."

Ritsu Kageyama

Ritsu Kageyama The brother of Shigeo. Ritsu is very clever and serves on the student council. He excels in academics and everything else he tries, but none of that matters to him as much as psychic power. His brother is more important to him than anyone or anything else. He is apparently serious but can be quite jumpy at times.

Teruki Hanazawa

Teruki Hanazawa Teruki Hanazawa is a second-year student at Black Vinegar Middle School. He was introduced as an antagonist but is now Mob's friend, although he also views Mob as his greatest rival.

Tsubomi Takane

Tsubomi Takane Tsubomi Takane is a middle school student that attends Salt Mid and Shigeo Kageyama harbors an intense crush on her, which causes Tsubomi to be one of the most important characters in Mob Psycho 100.

Keiji Mogami

Keiji Mogami Keiji Mogami is "This Century's Greatest Psychic" and a former Psychic who turned into an evil spirit upon death. Keiji Mogami is a very bitter man, sick of the greed and selfishness of humanity. Because of the private dealings he did while alive, he has lost his moral compass and has become a twisted variant of his former self. After becoming an evil spirit, he vowed to use his power for his own intentions and fix the world by possessing people who appear to gather grudges around them. To that end, Mogami is willing to destroy a girl's body and brutally impale her father to achieve his whims.

Ryou Shimazaki

Ryou Shimazaki Ryou Shimazaki is a powerful esper, member of the now defunct terrorist organisation Claw and a former part of the Ultimate 5. The Slits where his eyes were formerly act as scars from his past life. While commonly unknown, it has been confirmed that Ryou does in fact have no eyes, instead relying on his nose for navigation, similar to a bat.
